We’re Hiring – Youth & Young Adults Ministry Leader (Part-Time)
New Horizon Assemblies of God Church
New Horizon Assemblies of God Church is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and outgoing individual (or couple) to join our growing, multigenerational, and multicultural regional church family of over 500 members, representing more than 20 nationalities.
We are based in Langley Mill, in the heart of the East Midlands—ideally located just 12 miles from Nottingham city centre, 8 miles from Derby, and within 30–40 minutes of the beautiful Peak District.
New Horizon is a church with a rich Pentecostal heritage. Established locally in 1956, it was re-visioned and revitalised in 2010 under our current Senior Pastors, at which time it was rebranded as New Horizon. Since then, we have continued to grow and develop in vision, impact, community, and regional presence. In 2019, we relocated into a large, modern, purpose-built facility that now serves both our church family and the wider community in many practical and meaningful ways.
The Role
This part-time, paid role carries responsibility for the leadership and oversight of our Youth and Young Adults ministries, including:
Creating an overall structure and delivery strategy for - discipleship, spiritual formation, outreach, evangelism, pastoral care, and equipping within the life of the church and local community
Discipleship & Spiritual Formation – nurturing young people and young adults in their faith and helping them grow into mature followers of Christ
Outreach & Evangelism – developing creative and relevant ways to reach young people and young adults both within and beyond the church
Pastoral Care – providing support, guidance, and encouragement to young people and young adults navigating life and faith
Equipping – identifying, equipping, and releasing young leaders into ministry and service
Leading, equipping, mentoring, and supporting volunteer teams associated with Youth and Young Adults ministry
The encouraging news is that this is not a “start from scratch” position. We already have an established youth community and a committed team of volunteers. Your role will be to build on this existing momentum and help take this vital area of ministry to the next level.

You will join our dynamic core staff team, working alongside experienced and gifted pastors and leaders, contributing meaningfully to the life of the church and the wider region. At New Horizon, we are passionate about leadership development and will provide ongoing training and support as part of our commitment to equipping people for ministry.

Job Role & Responsibilities
This role involves leading, overseeing, and developing the Youth/ Young Adults Ministry with a strong focus on discipleship, spiritual formation, outreach/evangelism, pastoral care, and leadership development for:
Young people in school years 7–11
· Young adults aged 17–30
Key Responsibilities
Developing, implementing and overseeing an annual ministry plan for the Youth/ Young Adults Ministry
Establishing a clear vision, structure, and strategy for discipleship, spiritual formation, outreach, evangelism, pastoral care, and leadership development within both the church and local community
Leading and coordinating the Friday night youth programme, Sunday morning youth gatherings, trips, social events, and the annual youth camp (currently Rock Nations)
Building, leading, equipping, mentoring, and supporting volunteer teams connected to the Youth/Young Adults Ministry
Managing an allocated ministry budget with integrity, responsibility, and accountability
Playing an active role in the wider life of the church, including full attendance in Sunday services and special church events

The ability to connect effectively with both young people and young adults
A leadership style that leads by example
Confidence in teaching and preaching the Word of God
Self-motivation, initiative, and a proactive attitude
A servant-hearted approach and the ability to work well within a team
A willingness to learn, grow, and continue developing personally and spiritually
A commitment to excellence in ministry and leadership
A willingness to relocate to the local area if required
Confidence and familiarity with modern technology, media, and communication platforms
